Hi all,
Well everything is wonderful today. The ear, nose and throat Dr. came in and did an evaluation this morning and said the test she was able to do looked OK so she consulted with the Dr. and they decided that today was the day. They removed the ventilator tube about 1130 and she has been doing great without it. She had a cpap like mask on for about two hours but now just oxygen tubes in her nose to make sure her oxygen level stays up. They came in and did a swallowing test that the tech said was OK but not great but that will come back with time. She still can't talk but that is to be expected after 12 days on the ventilator. She is just laying here alternately watching Hallmark Channel and napping. Larry and Julie were here last night and this morning and left to return home about 15 min. ago. Lewis will come tomorrow. Everyone says she looks good and they expect rapid improvement from here. I must say she sure looks wonderful with out that damned tube. Thanks for the Love and prayers for her they have worked miracles.
