On Friday, June 1, Brother Al, Sister Terry, Sister Sheryl and I pulled into Train Station #10 in Des Moines, where we welcomed on board Sister MARY BETH SHORT of Juanita Chapter, who we announced as the new Westside Chairman for the 2017-18 Flight Instructor deputy instructors.  Sister Mary Beth’s escort will be her sister, Laurie Short.  Our current Westside Chairman, Lynn Tebbutt, and seven Past Deputy Chairmen enjoyed the meeting, along with the many members in attendance.  We also enjoyed celebrating Juanita Chapter’s 95^th birthday!  It was a fun night for all!

Eastside Deputy Instructor Chairman 2016-17

Tonight Pete and I finished our announcements. We have had a wonderful time and thank all the members across the state for being so kind and welcoming when we came to visit.
Deputy Chairmen are a special breed; they are knowledgeable about our ritual and book of instruction and love to teach our members. We are pleased to announce Tina Demory from Astral Chapter as the new Eastside deputy chairman for the Classy Cat deputy instructors. There were 4 past grand matrons, 1 past grand Patron and 6 past deputy chairmen in attendance.  Tina's escort will be Joyce Allen.

Westside Deputy Instructor Chairman 2016-17

Tonight Pete and I travelled to Faith chapter to announce Lynn Tebbutt as the Westside Deputy Chairman.  Thank you to the Past Grand Matrons, and Patron along with the many past chairmen and our current Westside chairman for attending and welcoming Lynn into the group.  Lynn's husband Ed will be her escort. We also had several of our new Grand Family present who helped with the announcement.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2015-2016 West Side Chairman of the Deputies will be Alice Ashley. Calvin, Mary Helen, Gene and I traveled to Maple Chapter and made the announcement tonight (June 10^th).  We had 5 PGM-PGP, 3 Grand Officers (Marcia, Calvin and myself), 1 Grand Representative, West Side Chairman, Kathy Neubecker, SW Deputies, Robin and Vera,  4 WM/WP and several on the sidelines. Memory Makers Grand Family in attendance: Grand Organist, Gayle Dunston; Grand Adah, Laura Sweeny and Grand Electa, Claudianne Jones. Debbie Erickson from Lackamas Chapter in Washougal was there along with the East Side Chairman, Jane Anderson of the Night Owl Deputies. Alice and Jane were both Blue Bird Deputies for Stephanie Hoye. Jane and Alice have been working very hard on their Chairman tasks and look forward to meeting up with all the Deputies at Toppenish for Instruction. Thanks so very much for all who were able to attend, to those who could not but sent their regrets.  This is a very exciting and fun filled time for us.
