King County Line Officers Friendship Dinner

The postponed King County Line Officers’ Friendship Dinner is finally here! Sunday, March 30th will find us all gathered again at Alki Masonic Center to honor Worthy Grand Matron Stephanie Hoye and Worthy Grand Patron Rodger Collins. Social hour begins at 5:00pm, with dinner following at 6:00pm. Come dressed in your western finery and even have your picture taken to commemorate it. Besides good food at the dinner, you’ll have a chance to make a bid on auction items and purchase baked goods. The reservation you originally made for February 9th will get you a seat at the table for March 30th; so, don’t miss out. If you now want a reservation and didn’t have one previously, just email or call Muriel Knapp at murielknapp@msn.com or 206-932-7283. See you Sunday!

Masonic Family Park Needs your Help

March 20, 2014

To the Officers and Chapters of the State of Washington Order of the Eastern Star,

We are writing on behalf of the Master Masons Club of Snohomish and Island County, to request your help in supporting the Masonic Family Park in Granite Falls, WA.

The increased operations costs and our economy have created a shortfall in our income.  We want to help the park become self-sustainable and remain open for our future generations to use.

We are asking for financial help to rebuild failing structures and create new ones. Currently 4 shelters have been destroyed, many others need repair, and the Big Kitchen needs major refurbishment. We want to build small sleeper cabins and a second bath house.  In addition to cash, we are in need of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies, along with lumber and building materials. Future land development for DeMolay and Job’s Daughters are being planned, which would be similar to the Dream Camp Chalet, owned by the Rainbow Girls.

Your Donations are critical to maintain the day to day operations, and for the future development of the park. Any amount would be welcome. If your Chapter can host a fundraiser, or even make us your philanthropic project for the year, we would be most appreciative. We also offer Life memberships to our park for $500.  All money received from purchasing a life membership are placed into a Memorial Trust Fund, and the Principal will never be used. These are especially important because we hope one day our Memorial Fund will be large enough that the perpetual yearly income will sustain the park. But until then, WE NEED YOUR HELP.

The greatest support comes from using the Masonic Family Park. One day visits and weekend rentals are essential to our economic future.  Please spread the word about us.  We would be honored to host your next Lodge or Chapter retreat, family vacation, or a beautiful wedding at our new Gazebo.

On behalf of the Master Masons Club, WE THANK YOU for any support you can provide.

Fraternally,
Your Masonic Family Park Caretakers

New Grand Representative

Today (Saturday, March 1st) at the Grand Sentinel's Reception during the introductions of the Grand Representatives I stopped the Worthy Matron before she gave them a hearty welcome.  I said that there was one more Grand Representative who had not been introduced but I knew who it was.  I asked the Worthy Matron if I could introduce this person.  She gave me permission to do so.  I started out with saying there were several people in attendance from a particular family such as the Fruit Family - Peaches, the Flower Family - Rose, the Money Family - Penny and finally the Spice Family or really one of the Spice Girls - Ginger.  I introduced each lady.  When it came to Ginger I said she was also known as the new Grand Representative of South Carolina.  I instructed the Conductress to bring her to the east for formal introductions.  The new Grand Representative of South Carolina is Ginger Graham of Henry Wentworth Chapter in Vancouver.  She is listed in the Blue Book as Ruth in Henry Wentworth Chapter.  She was very surprised and speechless.
