Lorna Burns, Grand Esther, traveled to Spokane Chapter on June 14 to present the Grand Representative of Wisconsin commission to Betty Hughes. Betty is listed as AC of the chapter in the 2010-11 Blue Book.

NEW GRAND REPRESENTATIVE

This has been a long time coming. The Grand Chapter Office received the information for this commission at the same time the recipient was moving from Sequim to Montesano. It took a while to track down the person but this afternoon I had the pleasure of visiting Elisabeth Haubrick at her new home and presenting to her the commission to the Grand Chapter of Saskatchewan. She was delighted to have the official word. Her counterpart wrote her long before we received the information in the State’s.

If anyone down in that area will be attending Grand Chapter and could give a ride to Elisabeth she would love to go to Grand Chapter as her counterpart will be attending our Grand Chapter. WM Dorine Delancy got a real shock when she was handed a letter to read at her Chapter.  Seems her mother, Dottie Hardenbrook, is going to be one of Gloria's Merry Mice Deputies next year.

Last night (May 11^th) we traveled to Maple Chapter where we were pleased to announce Cyndi Branch West Side Chairman of the Deputy Instructors. The room was full of visitors including 2 PGM's (1) PGP, (5) grand officers and (6) Past Deputy Chairman. The worthy matron had a fun evening and honored mothers. They gave everyone tickets for door prizes and the winners won bars of soap, Windex, foil and toilet paper. The worthy matron wanted to give useful items and not dust collectors. The members enjoyed her sense of humor and the evening.

New Grand Chaplain announced

Good evening to you all. Thursday night at Mount Baker chapter we announced Jim Iversen as Grand Chaplain, along with his escort Pat. The room was overflowing with 98 wonderful Eastern Star Members; there were Past Grands, Grand Officers, Grand Representatives and Deputy Instructors, as well as some of the newly announced Grand Officers for this coming year. In attendance was Irene Jacobs, Grand Marshal 2011-12, and escort Gary; Cindy Schneider, Grand Adah 2011-12, and escort Tom Hall; Pat Scales, Grand Electa 2011-12, and escort Tom. Our name for the new Grand Family is "The Pace Setter" Grand Family. During the announcement I had all the members of the Pace Setter Grand Family come to the East where Grand Conductress Gerry Mosler & escort Terry and Grand Sentinel Bob Breza & escort Nancy were introduced and the ladies given the mouse pin that all of our ladies will be wearing this coming year. Our new Grand Chaplain had a few words of wisdom to share. Thank you to all of you that have come out for the announcements! We look forward to a wonderful year serving this Grand Jurisdiction.
