(Unofficial count) About 240 members and guests joined all the high school marching bands in the state in Kennewick to enjoy the reception of our Associate Grand Matron Linda Runyan and Associate Grand Patron Dick Weigel at the Kennewick Masonic Hall on Saturday, October 3rd.
Seriously, they had a big high school band competition at the school across from the Masonic Center and all the streets surrounding the Center were barricaded. There probably would have been more people at the reception, but some members probably drove the streets of Kennewick for several hours just trying to find a way in!
AGM Linda's family turned out to help their mom/grandma celebrate her special day.
Connie Harris, AGM of Oregon and Garrette Cooke, AGP of Oregon joined Linda and Dick and Jack and Elaine for this happy day.
The Grand Officers gifts related to travel for Linda and baking for Dick.
WM Lucky McGaughey and WP Nick Goddard of Evergreen Chapter and WM Marilyn Schahfer and WP Tom Henson of Martha Chapter did a great job of introducing everyone and leading the reception.
Introductions were many including:
20 Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons
All 18 Grand Officers of Washington and 2 from Oregon
Grand Treasurer Emeritus - Katie Glessing
19 Grand Representatives
Friend of a Feather - Joan Kershner
14 Deputy Instructors
38 Worthy Matrons and Worthy Patrons
20 Past Grand Escorts
Lots of present Grand Escorts
and everyone else!
Whew!
Janie Larson got all of our toes tapping with a wonderful selection of music on her accordion.
There were 28 Chapter Associate Matrons and 21 Associate Patrons present to be honored.
The Legacy Grand Family - whom Linda finally remembered to introduce - presented her with a beautiful Bible.
Afterwards there were delicious refreshments in the dining hall.
