New Grand Representative

Monday, March 5^th, I had the pleasure of travelling to Chehalis Chapter to present Doris Tibbits with a commission to South Carolina. She was extremely surprised and elated. To make the presentation we played a game. I came with 13 unmarked envelopes and had my helpers, AGC Darlene Wiggins and former GR, Melanie Boss pass them out among the membership. Each envelope contained a letter of the alphabet. Those receiving envelopes were told to not open them and to line up in the West with no order to the lineup. On the count of three, they were given one minute to open the envelope, arrange themselves in proper order to spell a word. It took them more than a minute and when they were done they were lined up as follows: ANILORACHTUOS. All on the side lines started laughing because the spellers had the word (s) backwards and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Once they got turned around, I had Doris (who was playing March music for the game) brought to the East for her presentation of her certificate and pin. She was given a standing ovation. There were several current Grand Representatives and Former Grand Representatives present. Fun was had by all. Thank you WGM Jean and WGP Al for allowing me to travel to Chehalis to present this honor.

NEW GRAND REPRESENTATIVES

Grand Secretary, Irene Jacobs announced at the opening session of the Grand Chapter of Washington this afternoon (June 26^th) that Cindy Sims is the new Grand Representative of Tennessee.  She is listed in the Blue Book as Associate Matron of Naomi Chapter.

Grand Esther, Carole Lee Walk presented the Grand Representative of Louisiana commission to Kathleen Miller during the Tuesday, June 28^th evening session.  Kathleen is listed in the Blue Book as Associate Conductress of Harmony Chapter.

Newly installed WGM Peggy Mills announced this afternoon that Paul Haukaas is the new Grand Representative of Italy.  He isn’t listed in the Blue Book but his wife Marcia is the treasurer of Lackamas Chapter.

Then…WGM Peggy had Robert DeBruyn come to the East to announce that he is the first Grand Representative of Washington in Italy.  Robert is the JPGP of Italy.  He is listed in the Blue Book at the bottom of page4.

Travel north a few miles and the Grange is on your left before the 4 way stop signs.

If you come from the downtown area: turn east (away from the Ocean) at the Go Carts and Bank of Pacific stop light.

Sid Snyder or 60^th Street has both names.

Go straight to the 4 way stop signs on the corner of 60^th and Sandridge Road.

Take a right and it is on your right just past 3-4 houses.

Parking in back and enter for the luncheon from below.

The weather report is awful for Sat and Sun. We need rain but I didn't want it on our special day.

We did it!  We traveled to Waitsburg and could hardly wait to announce that Marilyn Wilson will be Grand Warder of the Memory Makers Grand Family. Her escort is Gerry Stinnett. This chapter really knows how to turn up the heat. We had 2 PGP, 3 current grand officers, 4 GR, 2DI (Oh by the way Mary Ann, they are your DI and they will be GO for us ...) & 4 WM & WP.  Current grand warder Leslie Green was there with 4 past Grand Warders. Thank you Dottie Hardenbrook for coming all the way from Arizona and others from near and far.  A great time was had by all.  They did a wonderful initiation prior to the announcement. We congratulate all the members for their outstanding work. Newest member Skip is ready and able and thinks that all their meetings should be a full house. Stay tuned....meet us in Spokane Wednesday if you don't have another meeting scheduled.

First Aid Help Needed at Grand Chapter

We are stilling looking for help in the First Aid Department at Grand Chapter June 29th thru July 1st at each session

Anyone with Basic Frist Aid & knows CPR is greatly appericated.

Shifts will be 2 hour intervals and sign up sheets will be at the first aid table.

We are delighted to announce that last night Calvin, Mary Helen and I traveled from Spokane to Afton Chapter and announced that we had chosen Kay Foss to be our Grand. Marshal, her escort is Allen Foss. Kay was presented with her 50 year pin prior to our announcement. The room was full. Thank you Afton Chapter for your warm welcome. We had 8 PGM/ PGP, 6 Grand Officers and Grand Organist from Idaho, 3 GR, 3 DI and west side Chair (Kathy), 6 WM & 1 WP (more were introduced prior in other categories), Grand Treas Emeritus Carmen. 50 visitors and 27 Afton members per the Sentinels report Yahoo!!! AND we had current Grand Marshal Penny and 11 past grand marshals. 5 of those past grand marshals are past grand matrons. WOW!!! This is what OES is all about. Love friendship supporting one another and having a great time where ever we go. Short break and we will be out the first 3 days of June with our final announcement the 2^nd week of June. Congrats Memory Makers Grand Family for making memories and supporting your new family.

Calvin, Mary Helen and I traveled to Magnolia Chapter and announced that Claudianne Jones will be our Grand Electa of the Memory Makers Grand Family. 65+ members, 6 PGM & PGP, grand officers and a great showing of east side deputies and WM & WP.  Current Grand Electa Marita and 3 Past Grand Electas ...Aril Baldwin will be Claudianne's escort and those two have put their heads together and have Grand plans coming together.

Calvin, Mary Helen, Gene and I traveled to Chehalis and announced that Laura Sweeny will be our Grand Adah of the Memory Makers Grand Family.  We had 4 PGM in attendance, 8 Current Grand Officers (including Sue Putnam, Grand Adah). 4 Grand Representatives (Thanks Pete Cole for bringing Ken Estess, New GR of Maine from Tyler Chapter). 3 Deputy Instructors, 3 WM and 3 WP AND A BIG YAHOOOOO 13 Past Grand Adah's from all over the state. It is so much fun for those in our Grand Family to be announced, breathe a sigh of relief and then attend the next function. Those attending from Memory Makers Grand Family: Grand Chaplain, Neil Glessing & Katie, Grand Organist, Gayle Dunston and escort Barb Lampi,  Grand Adah, Laura Sweeny, Grand Ruth, Ginny Elliott and escort Phyllis Rasler, Grand Martha, Amy Smith, escorts Al & Nancy Jorgensen, Hope to see several of you tomorrow night East of the Mountains and then up North on Wednesday. Well we made East in harmony and announced Carole Lee Walk as grand Esther. The room was full. 5 PGM/PGP & 8 past grand Esther's. WM Judy did a wonderful job and we were out in no time at all. Great treats and fellowship followed and I'm sure Carole Lee and Fred will breath easier now that their secret is out. Calvin and I wish to thank everyone for the well wishes. See you next week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
