New Grand Representative
On June 13, 2017, I had the pleasure to present the Grand Representative commission of Wisconsin to Dee Johnson, WM at Vida Chapter in Tacoma. We played a game where 9 members were given envelopes and then were asked to form a line in the East. They were given one minute to open their envelope, look at the letter inside and spell the appropriate word. They failed the time frame but eventually got the word W-I-S-C-O-N-S-I-N. Since they couldn’t do it in a minute, I told them none of them was the new Grand Representative gave them each a cheese stick. They were allowed to be seated while I gave a few fun facts about Wisconsin. I than asked the WM if she would help me with the announcement. Imagine her surprise when I presented her with a bag of cheese and crowned her “Princess Cheesehead” with a cheese tiara and then pinned her and presented her with her certificate. Congratulations to Dee.

New Grand Representative
Last night (April 6th) at Alderwood Chapter I had the honor of presenting the Grand Representative of Iowa in Washington to my husband Scott Wallinger. I gave a numbered envelope to four of our Past Matron's to read. In each envelope there was facts about Iowa. I also gave Scott an envelope to read, but before the meeting he had gone to the eye doctor. We were lucky when it was his turn to read what was in his envelope his eyes were back to normal. He couldn't believe what he was reading so his comment was "And the Oscar goes to". This was what was written, New Fact: Scott Wallinger is the New Grand Representative to Iowa in Washington.

Tonight, February 8th,
I travelled to Cyclamen Chapter #65, Auburn to present the commission to New
York to Brother Al Jorgensen.
I made a list of
"things this member has accomplished” sort of a 'This is Your
Life'...
I asked all the members
of Cyclamen to stand and if I named off anything that did not apply to them,
they were to sit down.
The end goal was to have
Brother Al almost being the last person standing.
As soon as I got to the
5th clue: this person.... is a Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge
of Washington, I walked over and escorted Al up to the East.
Then I asked if he
wanted to know where he's going? YES! So I had a few quick facts,
and paused to see if he could guess...
Finally announcing NEW
YORK, I gave him the largest apple I could find. Then a bag of peppermint
patties, attached to it was a post it note. The writing "NEW” on it,
I put it above the YORK on the label. Then he received the packet of
info, letters, etc. After that, pinned and introduced.
It was my pleasure and
my honor to present this commission. I know I had fun! Al was super
appreciative and the members were excited for him.
Ann Gates, PGM was
there. Several Former Grand Representatives. One current. I'm
sure the weather kept most people at home, perfectly understandable.
A fun night was had by
all!

would be great if someone within your organization was interested in purchasing

would like to sell all in one lot for $350.00 It is priced lower than E BAY

please have an appointment, at which time I was told no. Gerry Mosler was

surprised and kept repeating “it’s me, it’s really me”. I know that she

New Grand Representative
It was my pleasure tonight (Jan 24th) to travel to Amethyst Chapter in West Seattle to present the Grand Representative to Massachusetts commission to sister Sandra Monk. She was shocked and honored! I think there may have been some 'happy tears'.
I started off by giving facts about the state that I was there to present. First was describing the state flag.
Prior to the meeting, I had handed out 7 scrolls to the 5 Star Points, the Conductress and WP. I travelled to each Star point, asked them to read their
scroll with various facts about this State. I walked over to Sandra, sitting at Conductress and asked her to read her scroll, not quite then....
I proceeded up to the East and asked the WP to read his scroll. WP Richard Moulden (and Grand Organist) proudly and loudly read the "Hear ye, Hear Ye" scroll announcing Sandra, on this date, time and place to be the New Grand Representative to Massachusetts! Sandra is Conductress of Amethyst Chapter, so I had a former Grand Representative to Massachusetts (Dianna Kaspar) escort her to the East. She was then pinned, presented with the Official Certificate and packet from Massachusetts. All happy moments and smiles around the room! Sandra has all the scrolls too, for her scrapbook. Happy and safe travels!
There were 9 former Grand Representatives and 3 current Grand Representatives present.
Since Sandra was a Blue Bird Deputy Instructor, there were 2 Blue Birds present for her - all bustin' their buttons over her.
This was indeed a special night, one for the memory books!

It was my pleasure to travel to the "Queen City of the San Juan Islands" Monday evening to present the commission of Grand Representative of New Hampshire to Sister Margaret Kennedy of Madrona Chapter.
I started by giving several facts about New Hampshire ending with "Sarah Josepha Hale, author and journalist, wrote the poem 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' in 1830." Madrona's Associate Matron, Mary Morgan, guessed New Hampshire, and I ended with this poem:
So now to find the new grand rep,
Her hair was not as white as snow,
And everywhere her sister went,
She was also sure to go.
Her hair was not as white as snow,
And everywhere her sister went,
She was also sure to go.

This is Betty Hughes, Grand Martha. I was able to give the commission of Grand Representative of Connecticut to my mother, Patty Hughes, Spokane Chapter, tonight January 10, 2017.
I had my escort, Alice, hand out 6 numbered envelopes to various people around the room. Then I said we were going to play a game trying to guess which cities were the furthest from Spokane. As I called for each number, I had the person with that envelope open it and read what I had written in the card. For example – “Which city is furthest from Spokane. Honolulu Hawaii or Hartford Connecticut?” The entire room would try to guess and I would give the answers with the number of miles of how far away each one was from Spokane. I had 5 envelopes with various cities, and then the 6th envelope Mom had. Inside, it said, “Mom – are you sure you want to go to Hawaii for our next vacation?” She couldn’t figure out why I said that. Then after she read it out loud, I asked her if she would rather go to Connecticut as the Grand Representative. She was quite surprised. I had Alice escort her to the east and formally introduced her. It was so much fun to be able to give the commission to my mother!!

Last night I presented Allen Smith of Beulah Chapter the
appointment as Grand Representative of Mississippi in Washington. Since
Allen plays the organ, I had ask him to help me with the announcement, since
once you say a certain Chapter is the place to be, everyone knows there will be
an appointment, the only question is who and where to. I asked Allen to play a
few tunes about other states and I would interject a few songs. He did
Washington's and I told him we didn't do reps to our own state, he did Ohio and
I told him we already had a rep to Ohio, I sang part Georgia on my mind, he did
When the Saint go Marching in, and then I did Mississippi Mud. I told him
thanks for being such a great sport and helping me and since he had he should
get the appointment. He was surprised because he was sure it was someone
else.

New Grand Representative of Alberta
Last night I had the pleasure of presenting the Grand Representative commission for Alberta to my best buddy, Gary Osborne. This was especially poignant since Diane Osborne and Roy Sharp presented my commission to Alberta almost exactly eight years ago. I even got Diane to help me present it without knowing she was doing it. They were both speechless! What goes down comes round!
I’ve attached some photos from last night. There were three former GR’s (including myself) of Alberta and a total of thirteen former GR’s. It was a great night.
What a great way to start the year,
Pete-WGP

New Grand Representative
It was my honor to give
Sister Katheryn Kusick of Naomi Chapter her commission as Grand Representative
of Nebraska. It was a great evening at Naomi with three Grand Officers
