NEW GRAND REPRESENTATIVES

The following announcements were made during the introduction of Grand Representatives at Grand Chapter Installation on Wednesday, June 28^th in Yakima

·         Aril Baldwin, Grand Chaplain presented the Grand Representative of Utah commission to Dixie Miller, Adelphi Chapter.  She is listed in the current Blue Book as Chaplain.

·         Jean Ballard, WGM presented the Grand Representative of Nevada commission to Jane Anderson, Victory Chapter.  She is listed in the current Blue Book as Secretary

·         Jean Ballard, WGM presented the Grand Representative of Bolivia commission to Barbara Grobler, Reliance Chapter.  She is listed as escort to PGP John Grobler in the current Blue Book.

·         Jean Ballard, WGM presented the Grand Representative of Puerto Rico commission to Janice Dorsey, Stanwood Chapter. She is listed in the current Blue Book as AM.

Tonight (June 20^th) I had the privilege of presenting the Grand Representative of Ohio to Marjorie Knox of Guiding Star Chapter.

New Grand Representative

On June 13, 2017, I had the pleasure to present the Grand Representative commission of Wisconsin to Dee Johnson, WM at Vida Chapter in Tacoma. We played a game where 9 members were given envelopes and then were asked to form a line in the East. They were given one minute to open their envelope, look at the letter inside and spell the appropriate word. They failed the time frame but eventually got the word W-I-S-C-O-N-S-I-N. Since they couldn’t do it in a minute, I told them none of them was the new Grand Representative gave them each a cheese stick. They were allowed to be seated while I gave a few fun facts about Wisconsin. I than asked the WM if she would help me with the announcement. Imagine her surprise when I presented her with a bag of cheese and crowned her “Princess Cheesehead” with a cheese tiara and then pinned her and presented her with her certificate. Congratulations to Dee.

Grand Officer Initiation

The Treasured Cameo Grand Family conducted their last Grand Officer Initiation tonight.  This was a very special initiation for WGM Peggy and Guiding Star Chapter.  The candidate was Ivy Mills, the 6th generation from Peggy's family to be initiated into Guiding Star.  Ivy is pictured standing next to Peggy in the picture of the candidates and Grand Officer Initiation Team

ANSWER TO CLUE #11

On Monday, June 5, Brother Al, Sister Terry, Sister Sheryl and I pulled into Train Station #11 in Monroe, where we had the pleasure of announcing Sister NANCY BASS of Floral Chapter as the new Grand Warder for the 2017-18 Dancing Lights Grand Family.  Sister Nancy’s escort will be her husband, Dennis Bass.  Our current Grand Warder, Don Daly, and five Past Grand Warder’s enjoyed the meeting along with the many members in attendance.  Brother Al and I also announced last night that our trip would be to the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (October 5-9, 2018).  We hope many of will be able to join us for this magical trip!  It was a fun night for all!

On Friday, June 1, Brother Al, Sister Terry, Sister Sheryl and I pulled into Train Station #10 in Des Moines, where we welcomed on board Sister MARY BETH SHORT of Juanita Chapter, who we announced as the new Westside Chairman for the 2017-18 Flight Instructor deputy instructors.  Sister Mary Beth’s escort will be her sister, Laurie Short.  Our current Westside Chairman, Lynn Tebbutt, and seven Past Deputy Chairmen enjoyed the meeting, along with the many members in attendance.  We also enjoyed celebrating Juanita Chapter’s 95^th birthday!  It was a fun night for all!

ANSWER TO CLUE #9

On Thursday, June 1, Brother Al, Sister Terry, Sister Sheryl and I pulled into Train Station #9 in Mount Vernon, where we had the pleasure of announcing Sister LAUREL JACOBS of Mount Baker Chapter as the new Grand Electa for the 2017-18 Dancing Lights Grand Family.  Sister Laurel’s escort will be her husband, Dave Jacobs.  Seven Past Grand Electa’s enjoyed the meeting along with the many members in attendance.  It was a fun night for all! 

We were also honored to be present for the Eastern Star Memorial Service for Sister Sonja Doran.  Several members of her family and friends were in attendance for the service, which was lovingly performed by the members of Mount Baker Chapter.
