New Grand Representative

     Thursday evening, January 7, 2016, I had the distinct please of presenting the Grand Representative of New Mexico commission to a VERY surprised Cathy Cook from Analia Chapter. 

      I walked through the chapter room stating "odd laws" from New Mexico and asking the members if they could name the state with those clues.  The last clue I gave was the state airplane:  hot air balloons!  And that gave away New Mexico.  I was at the Associate Matron's station by this time, and so just turned around and grabbed Cathy's hand and announced her.  Cathy received a standing ovation on our way to the East where I presented with her paperwork and beautiful pin. 

      Cathy was truly stunned and all the members are so pleased for Cathy.  Congratulations Cathy!

Fred and I went to Waitsburg Chapter last evening (January 4th).  Under Good of the Order, I presented the Commission of Grand Representative of Delaware, to Jack Otterson, their Worthy Patron.

New Grand Representative

I presented Donna with her commission on Jan 4, 2016.  She was very surprised.  My escort Allen surprised her by approaching her from behind.

Memorial Service for Gary Jacobs

The memorial service for Gary Jacobs (Night Owl Deputy Instructor & Escort of Grand Secretary Irene Jacobs) will be Monday, December 21st at 11:00 AM at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499

Sad News.

Very sad news.  Gary Jacobs, husband of our Grand Secretary , Irene, had a massive stroke and passed away this evening.  Her reception tomorrow has been cancelled.  Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sad news

Very sad news from PGM Diane Osborne:

A message just came over the Caringbridge site from her son Rich that Joy Lough, PGM and Past Worthy Grand Ruth, went to be with Buck this morning. Both boys, Rich and Shaun, were with her.

She is now at peace, out of pain, and with her beloved Buck.

It was my pleasure to present Roscoe Cox a commission as Grand Representative of Australia in Washington at Guiding Star's meeting tonight (October 20th). Roscoe said Australia was on his bucket list. I guess some things are just meant to be.....Way to go Roscoe.....

Sad News

Linda Crichton’s husband Alan passed away at noon October 16. He had been hospitalized and in Hospice care (cancer in both lungs & throat). No word yet on services. Linda's contact information is listed in the 2015-16 Blue Book under Belfair Chapter where she is organist. Linda is a Past Grand Organist. Please keep her and the family in your prayers.

New Grand Representative

"Last night (Oct 5, 2015) I had the honor to gave out the Commission for the Grand Representative of Texas to Judy Savage, at Madrona Chapter #89 in Anacortes, with the assistance of my escort Allen.   Jr. Past Grand Patron Jim Iversen was in attendance with his escort Pat.  Both were introduced;  Pat Iversen, WM and Jim, WP of Tula Chapter. The pictures below show in order:  the presentation to Judy, those in the East, Judy in her Texas Hat as presented by me just following closing of the Chapter.  A picture with their Chapter members, and the last picture (not very clear) shows those Past Grand Representatives that were present.

We all had a great time visiting and refreshments afterwords".

Italy Grand Chapter Trip - April 2016

Kay & Allen Foss have been requested by Dan & Vicki Voorhees, as well as Pam Armagost, to put a group together for the Grand Chapter of Italy.   This group would be extended to make it a seven day trip which includes the time at Grand Chapter.  If you are interested in learning more about Tuscany and the Rome highlights, please call Allen & Kay Foss @ their home office, 360-658-4001, or their cell at 206-919-0169 for more information, ASAP.  As the deadline for registration to attend Italy's Grand Chapter is only thru the end of October. Missing

Missing! A leather Scabbard (sheath) for one of the broadswords that was used at Grand Chapter this past June. If you have any information of the whereabouts of it please contact Linda Ogren, 253-845-7365.  These swords were on loan from Chuck and Stacie Rudd of Naomi Chapter.  These items were being stored in the Grand Secretary's room and when we are breaking down Grand Chapter that we the one item that went missing and we are concerned and would like it returned.  Thank you for your help in this matter.

Coming on 101 towards Seaview/Long Beach: take a right at the 1^st light (Sandridge Road).

Travel north a few miles and the Grange is on your left before the 4 way stop signs.

If you come from the downtown area: turn east (away from the Ocean) at the Go Carts and Bank of Pacific stop light.

Sid Snyder or 60^th Street has both names.

Go straight to the 4 way stop signs on the corner of 60^th and Sandridge Road.

Take a right and it is on your right just past 3-4 houses.

Parking in back and enter for the luncheon from below.

The weather report is awful for Sat and Sun. We need rain but I didn't want it on our special day.
