New Grand Representative

Monday, March 5th, I had the pleasure of travelling to Chehalis Chapter to present Doris Tibbits with a commission to South Carolina. She was extremely surprised and elated. To make the presentation we played a game. I came with 13 unmarked envelopes and had my helpers, AGC Darlene Wiggins and former GR, Melanie Boss pass them out among the membership. Each envelope contained a letter of the alphabet. Those receiving envelopes were told to not open them and to line up in the West with no order to the lineup. On the count of three, they were given one minute to open the envelope, arrange themselves in proper order to spell a word. It took them more than a minute and when they were done they were lined up as follows: ANILORACHTUOS. All on the side lines started laughing because the spellers had the word (s) backwards and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Once they got turned around, I had Doris (who was playing March music for the game) brought to the East for her presentation of her certificate and pin. She was given a standing ovation. There were several current Grand Representatives and Former Grand Representatives present. Fun was had by all. Thank you WGM Jean and WGP Al for allowing me to travel to Chehalis to present this honor.

New Grand Representative

I traveled to Juanita Chapter on March 2nd to give the Grand Representative of Colorado commission to Colleen Crystel. I provided some information on Colorado (like they have an alligator farm), but only Colleen was able to figure out what state it was. She was surprised and thrilled to receive the commission and looks forward to re-visiting Colorado where she is from.

New Grand Representative

I went to Malden Chapter on February 12th to present the Grand Representative commission to North Dakota so sister JoAnn Morgan. Although she was unable to be there, those present were thrilled and excited with the appointment. We all wrote notes of congratulations on valentine cards so she will have the well wishes of everyone present.

Prayers Needed

Past Grand Matron Sylvia Palmer has had a stroke, affecting her left side. She is at Swedish Hospital in "comfort care." She apparently cannot speak, but does recognize folks and can squeeze their hands. Her daughters are with her and have asked for no visitors at this time, but cards will be appreciated. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Pill Bottle Information

Dear Sister & Brothers,

Thank you for participating in the pill bottle program this year.  After speaking with WGM Jean I have set a cut-off date of May 1st for you to turn in your label free, glue free, washed inside and outside, dried and caps replaced bottles to either a Grand Officer or me (you can always bring them to Poulsbo Chapter on the 2nd Wednesday).  This cut-off date will allow me time to check every bottle, package them up and send them off to Ohio in time to give a full report at Grand Chapter.  If you, as individuals, still wish to participate in this program I will be glad to give you the name and address for Matthew 25 Ministries so you can mail them directly to them.

Again, thank you for your support of this program.
