New Grand Representatives

Mitzi Davis, organist at Magnolia Chapter beautiful downtown Millwood , is the newly commissioned Grand Representative of Idaho.  Bonnie Rail, Grand Ruth , with the assistance of Mitzi's daughter Vicki Chamberlain who is the W.M., completely took her by surprise!  John Chamberlain, Mitzi's son -in law, is a newly appointed Grand Representative of British Columbia & Yukon in the Idaho jurisdiction so for his first time introduction at Magnolia Chapter Mitzi , as organist, lead us in the Idaho state song.  Grand Ruth, Bonnie displayed to the members and friends in the chapter room a sweatshirt with the word IDAHO embazened on it and placed it at Mitzi's station.  Not much response there until the little sack of  Idaho Potato Poop was placed beside it and her introduction made. She joined us in the East amid cheers and applause where she received her pin and the beginning of which we know will be a full and satisfying commission for her.
OES members from Idaho joined us for this fun evening to honor our new Grand Representative.   Congratulations Mitzi. We love you!! (This all happened on Tuesday, Februay 18th)

I traveled to Maple Leaf Chapter in Bellingham on 2-18-2014 to give the Commission for Grand Representative of California.  I went around the Chapter having members read some little known laws of the state, using them as clues to identify it.  The last law was read by Past Grand Representative Mary Nelson, whose commission had just ended.  Her law claimed that the new Representative of California in Washington was Janet Small.  I escorted Janet to the East, attached her California pin and read the Declaration from the WGM of California.

Another New Grand Representative

Last night, February 13, at Roza Chapter's "Christmas All Year Long" Friendship Night, under "Good of the Order," Santa Claus entered the Chapter room with a "Ho Ho Ho," and began handing out gifts (with the help of his elf, Bill Miller from Tacoma Chapter) to each member and visitor.
Santa (aka Grand Organist, Gerry Stinnett) reminded everyone that "It is better to give than to receive," and should anyone receive a gift that they thought someone else would enjoy more, they should give it to that person right away.
Gifts were exchanged, and finally and reluctantly, Glenna Cline gave her gift, a certificate for the new Grand Representative of New Jersey, to her daughter, Cathy Edmonson.
The 48 members and visitors applauded with cheers and tears of joy.
Bill Miller, Jr. Past Grand Representative of New Jersey presented Cathy with her pin.
After closing, the Chapter retired to the dinning hall to continue the celebration.

NEW GRAND REPRESENTATIVE

Tonight (February 12th) I presented valentines to several of the Century Chapter officers and asked them to read the "To" and "From" as well as the words on the valentine.  The last one I gave was to Worthy Matron, Linda Hays.  In the "To" area she read "Grand Representative", at which time she almost lost her breath.  She turned it over and read "From" Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.  I had my arms around her, which was good because her knees buckled.  She recovered herself and I introduced Linda Hays as the new Grand Representative of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in Washington.

Esther Club Luncheon Venue Change

Due to unfortunate circumstances at the Lake City Presbyterian church, we have had to hustle to make other arrangements for another venue.  It will be held as scheduled at the Wedgewood Presbyterian church at 8008 35th Ave. NE, very easy to find by going east over NE 75th and turning left at 35th.  The church is on your right just a little way past the Post Office.

New Grand Representative

I had the honor of announcing sister Nancy Reid as Grand Representative of Georgia in Washington. During introductions I asked the Worthy Matron if we could go on vacation before introducing the Grand Representatives. We went on a trip to Georgia and learned some of the more obscure laws we would want to obey and saw some of the tourist destinations before arriving in Macon for Grand Chapter. At that time I mentioned the need for a Grand Representative and had the Conductress escort sister Nancy to the east and presented her with her pin and some travel guides for her travels in Georgia.
